represent and get involved
We need volunteers, we need sponsors. If you have the skills to help the centre back on its feet, or your business can sponsor repairs we would love to hear from you.
reflect and share your good stories
The West Indian Centre opened its doors in 1983. Hundreds of thousands of people have graced our venue. Parties, dances, dominoes matches, festivals, meetings, weddings, funerals, christenings. It’s all happened here. Have you got a story you would like to share? Photos, videos. We’d love to share those stories.
our goals
The Club has fallen into serious disrepair, alongside large debts, totaling circa £30,000 that the Centre has accrued through mis-management over several years.
A new Board has been appointed, with the remit to revitalise the Centre, with an immediate focus on raising an initial fund of £75,000 to fund required renovations – the aim is to re-open in 60 days.
1
Reopen
Fundraising and renovations/deep clean of the Coventry Caribbean Centre in the week beginning 23 July. We are calling for volunteers to help with cleaning, clearing, general building works and waste management.
2
Research
The Board are calling for the Community to have their say on the future provision of the Centre. Suggestions can be submitted here to or we are keen to hear from volunteers and community groups who may want to work with us to create a vibrant events and activities programme.
3
Refocus
Creation of a new vision and revised governance structure to ensure the creation of a responsibly-managed and commercially successful, community space.
